So, I got a call yesterday from a family friend telling me "Congratulations" on my engagement. There's only one problem...I'M NOT ENGAGED YET!! My boyfriend asked my dad's permission and then my dad proceeded to tell the whole family and our friends we were engaged! I'm so beyond embarrassed and hurt that I no longer get to tell my family the news. Isn't there a code or something when the boyfriend asks permission that the father of the bride isn't supposed to tell anyone? It's a good thing that I knew it was coming or else this could have been a lot worse. Anyone have any advice on how to approach this? I'm so lost...
