Fine China Brands

I am trying to register for some gifts and have never thought about Fine China until now.  Can we say OVERWHELMING!  So many types and patterns.  I want to get a brand that is good quality and willl last for years but not sure what makes are best.  Any ideas/suggestions?

    I think mine is Mikasa.  I totally agree with PP!  Go with something that is neutral and timeless.

    Yup, we definitely went with something basic, but very nice. Ours is the Noritake Platinum Wave pattern.

    We considered that one!  FI didn't like it as much as I did though.  We ended up going with Brocade by Waterford.  It's a little more ornate and will go well with FI's great-grandmother's china.

    Great!  Thanks for all the info!  I was sure which brand to get (if one was significantly better than some others).  The plan is to keep it simple.  I love the Brocade pattern aswell, and think that will be what we finally decide on!

    We went with the Kate Spade Gardner Street Platinum Collection.  I love the silver vines.  It is a timeless piece that I hope to pass down to my children later on in life!

    that's what I chose too! i was so excited that i got all of my settings and serving dishes for my engagement party, except now its all sitting in boxes until after the wedding and I'm dying to use them.
