Scary and Sad news.

This year is definetly not the best, my MOH's little brother (13) was diagnosed with bone cancer, he's been fighting since Christmas eve 2011. To top it off two weeks ago my grandpa was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My thoughts go out to those in similar situations.

Re: Scary and Sad news.

  • So sorry to hear!! Thoughts and best wishes to those close to you.
  • I'm so sorry. I've lost way too many family members to cancer. It's always super scary when someone else is diagnosed.

  • So sorry to hear that :-(

My FI's grandma was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer last year. She's fighting like hell and doing pretty amazing for how far advanced it was. The latest update is that her cell counts are back in the normal range which is totally amazing. I thought of moving our wedding up to make sure she could be there, but I'm not too worried. I think she will be there :-)

You're definitely not alone. Cancer is freaking everywhere. My grandpa and his two brothers died of cancer, a friend of mine has an inoperable brain tumor (which luckily has been stable for a while) and my cousin is a breast cancer survivor (she was so lucky, caught it way early and got a double mastectomy as a precaution). It's NOT fun. Hope your MOH's brother and your grandpa recover quickly!

  • @ Lucy- Thank you for your message, my Grandpa may not be a good candidate for surgery, last year he had two stints put in so his heart may not be able to take surgery. They are looking at radiation, his diagnosis is in the "middle" or a 5-7 so they are hopeful as long as it hasn't spread to his bones. We are still waiting on those results.

My MOH's brother has a very aggressive bone cancer they had to amputate his arm and it has spread to his lungs. As of right now its just a waiting game to see how he responds to the chemo. Please feel free any of you to take a look at his facebook page, to send encouraging messages and prayers, search for Team JR.

Prayers and good thoughts to all of you having to deal with this in one way or another.
