Hi!  I would definitely be cautious.  That is one of the sites that custom makes dresses and is based oversseas.  I've seen some bad things about them, but I'm sure there are some satisfied customers.  In the end, it's a risk you'd be deciding to make.  Why not check recycled bride?  Good luck!

Also, please check this site out and be very cautious!

  • Its a knockoff site. Read the faq on the attire and accessories board. Don't waste your money.
  • I bought my dress online - from Nordstroms. It's a safe bet, since they have actual stores, are based in North America, and have a good return poilcy.

You can also try JCrew, JC Penney or Sears (Canadian company).

  • I wouldn't risk it. There are plenty of affordable options right here where you don't risk having to spend MORE money after potentially getting screwed over.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Before I was on these boards, my mom bought her MOB dress off a knock-off site. It wasn't AWFUL, but she did spend a ton of money having it re-tailored at a seamstress after it arrived to make it look right. It probably would have been cheaper to just buy something from Nordstroms.

  • I'd stay away. Aside from the potential for fraud/cheap knockoffs, it is SO important to be able to try dresses on. So many brides go into their first shopping trip with one look in mind only to realize it doesn't work with their body type, and there is a better match. When I was looking for my gown, friends told me they looked at a minimum of 10 dresses before selecting one. If you order online (unless it is a known entity like Nordstrom, Bloomies, etc. where you can return it), you lose the opportunity to try until you find the right one.

You also mentioned they have a lousy return policy. To me, that sounds like they don't stand behind their merchandise. Nordstrom is able to offer a fantastic return policy because they know that they are selling consistent, quality merchandise and only a small percentage of people will be returning (not enough to affect their bottom line). People know what they are getting. When a place has a bad return policy, it makes me feel like they just want to unload junk on you and then not have to deal with the repercussions.

As for removing bad reviews on Facebook. I'm sure they do. I have posted bad reviews on 2 different company Facebook pages and they were removed. I was even blocked from posting on one of them.

Besides, my experience with discounted merchandise sites in general is that there is always a reason it's cheaper. Either it is a knockoff, or a special "straight-to-outlet" version put out by the designer that uses inferior fabric or worksmanship. For example, I remember getting all excited by discounts at that site 6pm.com (which is a legit site), but slowly coming to realize that any Joe's Jeans or AG I ordered from there were not quite the same quality as ones I bought at Bloomingdales. Though they were legitimately these brands, they were likely the "straight-to-outlet" versions.

This! I found my perfect dress, and I was in love. It was an Alfred Angelo. My SIL and I went to the store and as soon as I even saw it hanging up, I said is that it? My disappointment only increased when I tried it on. I was too short and curvy for it. It definetely looks way different on the models!
