favor?

I'm stuck on what to get as a favor.

We're getting married in a historic place, so I saw a bottle opener that was antique looking. Would that be a good idea? Although I said who really uses bottle openers anymore?
FMIL said candy or chocolate, personally I don't want to give that as a favor.

What is or was your favor?

were getting married in the winter, and that is kind of the theme we are going with...so my favors are hot choco packets and mugs.

That's a cute idea!! I wish I could find/think of something unique.  No one I know has any good ideas.

I dont think the bottle opener is a horrible idea, i mean yes, a lot of things are twist tops now but it still may be ok...you could always do candles, glassware, historic bookmarks, baggies of hershey kisses personalized with your date, mini picture frames...im not the best with thinking of ideas, but good luck!!

What makes the place historic, out of curiousity?
Bottle opener would be nifty and handy. Im not fond of the personalized bag of candy. Just do a regular bag of candy if you go that route. It's a lot less wasted money.

I like the idea of a bottle opener, but edible favors are always a safe bet.  We are planning on doing tin candles and one per person.

I made wine charms - charms that each had a different colored beads that go around the stem of a wine glass so you can distinguish yours from everyone else's at a party.  Each guest received a set of 6.

Well, I don't think you'll like our favors. We'll give fudge to each guest. The island where we'll be married is known for it.

I didn't have favors. 

I always like edible favors when I am a guest at a wedding.

I would have liked your favor! It's a heck of a lot better than picture frames or other things I'd probably toss out. Edible always wins :)

Honestly, I have no idea why it's historic. I just saw it in a magazine and loved it!
My family said rich people lived there and they had owned their own company.
