Wedding Decor...the aisle

I recently joined The Knot and am amazed that there is little to nothing said about aisle runners. Maybe it's a regional thing. Don't even go there....I can say it.  I'm a true G.R.I.T.S.!  Kidding aside, there is no comparison to ceremony decor without one to the decor with one. It sets the whole atmosphere.  I have come across some on Etsy that I really like, particularly a beautiful ornate one made by ThoughtsInArt. If you have any info or ideas I would appreciate it.

  • If you are looking to go the less expensive route, you can always go to a craft store like micheals or something.  If you want a custom one I would just look to google.com and type in custom isle runner.
I would advise having whomever is going to be laying it out to practice it first!  I wanted a custom isle runner when I first saw them, you can get so many different things like your initials, maybe a flower or anything relevent really.  Than I thought about it more and realized that since my family is going to have to clean up after the ceremony in the church, it is best to get an inexpensive one that can be tossed after use.  So many websites will try and real you in and get your money with the idea of keepsakes and oh you can cut out your initials and frame it.  But the reality of it is there is enough to worry about the day of without having to have soemone roll up your extravegant isle runner just so so you can frame it when you get home.  Man if I went for all the crap they try and sell you on, we would need a room just for the wedding memorabillia! Think about what you want from it before you spend your money!
