What do you give a MIL that you are not very close to??? I want to give her something special but I don't know what. My asked my fiance and he has no idea either, because he is not very close to her either. But we feel that we should give her a gift, right? She is not paying towards anything, but I thought this is standard thing to do??? YIKES! Please help!

We are kind of in the same boat... so we are giving hankies. Also she's BSC so she'll probably be hysterical at the wedding and need a hankie... and not in a sweet loving way.

We're doing coffee table style photo albums of wedding photos for all of our parents (3 sets as FI's are divorced) that way everyone gets the same things and no one can complain that someone else's gift was "more special" or whatever.

We will give them a card explaining what they're getting as they won't have it for a few months after the wedding.

Photos or just something she would enjoy we are getting her some hand painted scarves and perfume.
