I have fake ones. We're using them for the tables and I don't personally care if anyone knows they're fake. People will be eating dinner there and that's about it it. I got mine for very cheap here:

They also have freeze dried petals which may be a good in-between for you.

You know they may not be perfect but who cares, it's easier and also better on the wallet. We are using them on our tables with votives, and candle holders made out of horse shoes that we are going to weld.  The wedding itself is supposed to be nice and what not but don't lose sight over what the reason for the day is.

Actually OP, you should ignore iknowyoulied. No one in their right mind would judge you for saving some money by using fake rose petals. Weddings are expensive and everyone knows that. And if they do judge, like iknowyoulied seems to be doing, then they seriously have their priorities screwed up.

Plus, some places charge a substiantial fee for clean up of real petals if they leave stains. Something to consider.

i think for me it's more a matter of being wasteful. If we were at home then people could take home a centerpeice. I just can't see spending hundreds of dollars on something to look at for 3 hours then they get thrown away. Maybe that my cheap side talking. I guess i'll just see the cost of buying real rose petals. Thanks

fake ones will be just fine!! Not everyone has tons of money to shell out on real ones!! And these people are supposed to be your family and friends. If they dont like your flowers they will get over it. Its your wedding..

Another vote for petalgarden!  I got flower petals there for our aisle decotrations.  We had a destination wedding in Bermuda so they were quite easy to travel with.

I would advise to first check with your venue and see if they allow petals to be used whether real or fake. For most real petals the issue is usually that they bruise, turn brown, and can stain including roses etc. The issue with fake petals is that they are non-biodegradable so they most often or not are not allowed because they can't be composted as natural petals can. Also fake petals ....well they look and feel fake. You alone know your personality and what you want for your big day and what kind of impression you want to leave with your guests. I would personally recommend real petals instead of fake petals. You don't have to stick with classic rose petals either you can use bougainvillea petals.

If they do allow petals and you want to use petals I'd recommend using bougainvillea petals because they are real, won't bruise, won't turn brown and yes they are biodegradable and come in a range of great colours. If you need some more info please just let me know.
