Trolley Transportation...

I have loved Trolley's since I was a little kid...not sure why but I just thought they were cool....In order for us to get a limo we would have to get something out of state and our bridal party is so big we would need 2, in which case one of the people would have to sit up with the driver in both cars, in order to get everyone in. Too much and not fair to the person stuck in shotgun! So I suggested a Trolley. I think it's unique, fits our budget and will fit our whole party. Has anyone ever done this or known anyone who did this and what did people think? I mentioned it to my one groomsman and his reply wasn't what I wanted to hear. I know it's our day but I don't want to embarress anyone because I think it's cool...Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • You could look into the trolley idea, but they might be a bit expensive. Have you thought about a party bus instead of limos? Then you could all be in the same vehicle. It's not as stylish as a limo or trolley, but at least you'll all be together.

  • Check it out and price it.  We knew someone that owned a trolley and wanted to use it, but it didn't work out with timing.

It may actually be comparable to getting 2 limos.  It would be cool if you could make it work.
  • So I got the information on the trolly....It is 100 per hr, and a 3 hr minimum contract. Also there is a 20% gratuity due to the driver. So it would be 360.00 roughly. That isn't bad at all!! Thoughts?????

We did a trolley and we all loved it.  In fact, one BM and GM got married 2 months later and did a trolley.  And, another BM and GM are getting married this July and the bride is upset that they can't do a trolley because the ceremony and reception are in the same location.  Ours was about the same price, too, which was way cheaper than 2 limos for us.

I have some pictures in my married bio.

  • 360 sounds pretty reasonable to me.  Prices vary a lot by region, but you couldn't get 2 limos where I live for that.

If this is in your budget, I'd say go for it!  The only concern I would have, the majority of trolleys I've seen are open air.  Is your wedding in a time of year where you can count on the weather being warm?  Does the drive involve the interstate?
  • Huskerfanz...Thanks the pics were great! I am glad I am considering this...By the way OH-IO! haha couldn't resist!!!!

The Trolley we plan on taking isn't open air so we should be good...We will be married August 7th so hopefully the weather will be nice, warm, and dry...The drive won't be interstate...

    Wish us luck!
  • My daughter and son-in-law had a trolley for their wedding.  It was great!  The entire wedding party thought it was wonderful!

They got married this past October in Pittsburgh.  It snowed (!) in the morning and rained off and on for the rest of the day.  The high was only 39º!  They said the trolley was very warm.

    Here's a few photos:
