Basically it's a Disney princess wedding that looks like a costume party.  All the BMs are dressed up as various princesses and the bride is dressed like Ariel. You have to see it when you get home.

  • If this were just a costume/ theme party I would TOTALLY give it up to them for going all out. Visually, it's STUNNING.
Um, but it's a wedding. I completely agree, Hoboken, it looks like a joke or photo shoot or something.
  • Speechless. (Not in a good way)

This looks ridiculous Did you guys see the BM's faces in the 6th picture? They look so annoyed.

  • I agree Hoboken, there are no words.  This couple is from my city too!  I can't believe I never heard about this crazy wedding!

  • Am I an awful human being for saying that I would have politely declined being in that wedding party if asked?

  • The BM on the end (I am guessing that is Sleeping Beauty) looks like she hates life right now.

Oh and the picture of someone combing the brides hair with a fork...really?

If I was asked to be in this wedding and dress up as a disney princess I would have laughed right in the brides face.  I have worn some pretty hideous BM dresses in my time but at least none of those brides ask me to dress up like a character.

  • I love Disney. And I think they're kind of cute for a costume party, but not really a wedding. Just get the Alfred Angelo dresses that are kind of Disney princess stylized, but not overtly princess. On a side note, she should've at least made them look good, with full skirts and nice fabric. They look like they were just thrown together.
  • Okay, The Little Mermaid is probably really high up on my favorite movies list, but this is just crazy. I would never make people dress up like that for my wedding. Costume party? Sure. But not for a wedding. I agree with PP, she should have just worn the head piece. I'll accept the groom's outfit for theme's sake, but having the officiant wear a Mickey Mouse hat? Really? Unless I was their friend, I would be offended. I would probably be offended even if I was their friend.
  • I would at least have had my BMs buy the authentic costumes from the Disney store.

I'm still dying that she brushed her hair with a dinglehopper. There is no amount of money you could pay me to parade in a costume! They obviously didn't take their vows seriously if they played dress up like this.

I mean yeah you are suppose to be Ariel so of course you will comb your hair with a fork (or a dinglehopper) but you also just combed your hair with a fork.  So weird.  Could you imagine the bride being "Oh photographer you have to get a picture of me combing my hair with this fork!"  I am sure the photographer had an inner monologue going the entire time.

And yes, I have to agree that is one of my favorite ridiculous wedding photos.

  • I could totally see my oldest sister and her FI doing this for their upcoming wedding. They registered for Disney gift cards for their annual admissions as well as a trip to Paris Disney. They also were engaged in front of Sleeping Beauty's castleDisneyland and than went to the various stores on the grounds to collect free stuff for "getting engaged". I love Cinderella but the most I'd do is a Cinderella style dress from AA and a tiara. Maybe find some "glass slippers" to wear as well.

  • HAHAHA!  That's great.  Not sure it's my style, but they definitely get points for originality.  And wow, those BMs are some stand-up friends to do that.  I guess with something like that you just have to leave your "grown-up" shoes at home and go have fun with it.
  • My best friend has decided to have a Disney themed costume party for her 30th birthday later this year.  So this is extra funny to me right now.  I love her to death and I'm sure it will be fun, but I admit I'm side-eyeing it a teensy bit.  And she apparently wants to have it at my house (which I don't even own yet), but that's beside the point.

  • Looks like it would be a great 5 year olds birthday party, but for a wedding that is way too much. nbsp;I hate theme weddings like that. Posted by snippet17 This! Those poor bridesmaids.

I'm so ashamed to admit this: but if the dress price was reasonable, I'd totally be a BM in that wedding. I'd judge the hell out of it, but I'd totally do it. I'll jump on pretty much any excuse to wear a costume.

Even with my shameless love of costumes, though, I am totally judging this nonsense. And that hideous shade of red she dyed her hair.

  • I posted this on the SB board today on the Wednesday thread and got no responses from it! I'm happy Hoboken brought it to life somewhere else. The bride looks stunning, everyone else... not so much. If I found out a friend wanted me to dress like this, I'd immediately drop out of the wedding.

  • I get that everybody wants to have the wedding of their dreams, but sometimes those dreams turn out to be AWish.  No matter what your wedding is like..JOP, Church, Outside, it is a union of two people and it should be taken somewhat seriously.  At least that is my opinion.  I don't know where I saw it, but I watched a video of a unique entrance for the grooms side the wedding.  They played 007 music, one guy rappelled down from the ceiling, one guy "sneaked" up through the aisle, one guy ran across the balcony then down a wall outcropping, and the groom jumped through paper that had been set up at the pulpit.  Yes it was in a church that this took place.  A church is a place of worship, not a place to play act on your wedding day.

I think that would've been a really cute entrance to the reception though.

<div>I agree! Two of J's dart buddies came over a few weeks before the wedding and saw what chaos our dining room table was (all of my wedding planning stuff was scattered all over it), and saw a picture of Southfork Ranch (where the show 'Dallas' took place)  that my mom had sent me. I didn't want our wedding to have a kitchy vibe, so I immediately dismissed the location, but they guys said how funny it would be if we walked into the reception to the 'Dallas' theme song. We went with it, and it was hilarious. One of the best unsolicited pieces of wedding advice I got. From 2 dudes.</div>
  • Someone I know posted a video on FB of a bridal entrance and they danced in. The ushers/GM threw the programs in the air and fist pumped the aisle. Once all did some dance in, they rushed back and entered again with the groom. The bride danced up alone part way, than the groom walked up and escorted her the rest of the way up. It was cute to see but by no means how I would walk in to the ceremony, especially if the wedding is in a church or with a minister. I definately would something fun for the reception entrance though.

  • At least the BMs can actually wear their dresses again at Halloween. That might be their only re-usable BM dress!
  • Did you guys happen to see the GM in the photos? One is dressed as Mr. Smee!

  • Oh My this is is really bad taste. I feel bad for the wedding party, having to wear that and making sure everything was "disney" perfect. looked more like a performace than a wedding.
