First Song

Growing up I always envisioned my first song would be to "At Last" but my FI and I thought it might be fun to have a more upbeat song, so after looking around I fell in love with "My Everything"by Michael Buble.
What was/is going to be your "first song"?

We're using Then by Brad Paisley i love at last.. such a pretty song! it's your first song, if you want it to be relaxed and romantic then so be it! It's a beautiful song.

We used "Reminder" by Mumford & Sons.  H is a big Mumford fan, and I liked it because it wasn't overtly romantic.

Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. We met protesting against Scientology, and that was kind of the unofficial song of the whole movement at that point in time.

Whatever song you pick, make sure you dance to it before.  Some songs we were considering we're good to dance to.

Ours is going to be Beyonce "1+1". I am OBSESSED with Beyonce & this song always brings tears to my eyes. I am a little worried about the "make love to me" part, but everything else in the song is perfect & we are adults & will be married, so I am sure its not going to be a big deal that she says that.

We're debating between Ingrid Michealson's cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love with You" (first song we danced to - original Elvis version), "Hold You In My Arms" by Ray Lamontagne, "Rest of my Life" by Bruno Mars, or "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds.

We danced to 'Your Everything' by Keith Urban. My first choice was 'Angel' by Dave Matthews Band, but when J suggested the KU song, I loved it.

Our first dance was also "You are the best thing" by Ray LaMontagne. 

I definitely recommend practicing dancing to the song beforehand. We didn't do any crazy moves but it was a good to practice, especially if you have two left feet like me. It's also a good time to break in your wedding shoes a little bit.

here there and everywhere, the beatles   Our other possibility was "in my life" the beatles, but I'm seeing that becoming a more father son dance song.

"Our" song is Your Song by Elton John so that's what we'll dance to. Although I really like Hold On by Michael Buble, but that's not really FI's style.

I love that! I wanted "I'll Remember You" by Skid Row (I'm a big hairband fan) but I was vetoed, so we're going with "These are the Days" by Van Morrison- which was really my first choice, but I threw the other song out there to make this one even more agreeable :)

It is, by far, the most beautiful thing to me... My FI and I danced together for the first time ever at his cousin's wedding to the original version of the song, which made it super special to us. Then when I found the Ingrid Michaelson version, I knew that it was a huge contender for our first dance... fingers crossed that we stick with that one!

This is "our" song too! I'm planning on walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of it. I'm hoping to surprise FI with it but I don't know how well I can keep that from him!

I'm 99% sure our first dance will be "You're My Best Friend" by Queen. It's just so perfect for us :-)
