BM Shoes.....

If I want the bridesmaids to all wear the same shoes, should I be paying for them? Or is it okay to ask them to pay for their own shoes?

I think most people would say that technically the BMs are responsible for their own shoes.

That being said, if I was told to buy matching shoes (especially ones that are not very wearable again) I would tell the bride exactly where she can go.

A lot of other people are going to say that having matching shoes is very stepford. Just give them a color, be nice and say black, and tell them to get their own shoes. Shoes are very personal thing, everyone needs to be comfortable and with matching shoes, it is very unlikely that every single lady will be comfortable.

No guest is going to care what the BMs are wearing and it's definitely not something to stress over. :-)

I've been asked to buy a specific shoe before. however, I didn't mind because a) it was inexpensive (from Target) and b) it was a very neutral shoe that I still wear a lot years later and c) it filled a hole in my shoe wardrobe anyway.

but I ditto PP. just choose a color and leave it at that.

I don't know, I am probably being picky, but I like the look of matching shoes esp if the dresses match. Now if the dresses are all just the same color and different styles, then I would think the shoes just need to be the same color too.  I am hoping to find a shoe that everyone likes and matches but also non-expensive and is easily worn again. Too much? Maybe so. I think its nice to pay for everyone's shoes but just depends on the situation.
