DB BM dress?

I've heard how people have had problems with dresses being discontinued.  How do you know it's going to be discontinued?  Do I just need to call DB and ask?  Or is it posted on their site if it is going to be discontinued?

When we went shopping for my bms dresses our consultant told us one of the styles was being discontinued.  I'm guessing you can call the store & ask.  I don't think the website tells you, but I know in our case the one that was being discontinued is no longer online.

If you are ordering them soon its not a big deal.  Just make sure that all of your BM's order at the same time, so that you don't have someone waiting and they can't order it.  Just remember that DB is notorious for saying whatever is needed to get a sale that day.

Yeah, DB is good at that. I would definitely ask in person at one of the stores.

We went with DB for our BM's dresses and everything was fine. However, this is what they told me: their new color palette/schemes come out in late Dec/first of Jan. Depending on when your wedding is, I would suggest waiting until then to order so that you can be assured they are not going to discontinue a color and/or a style you are considering.

I got married in June of this year. We went dress shopping and fitting in mid January. The girls all order them in Feb or March and most of them were in within 4-6 wks. I think my sisters took a bit longer bc she didn't order it (slacker) when the rest of the girls did.

You could call and ask but they dont give very much notice.  The dress I wanted got discontinued.  I think that if you are REALLY set on a color or style than get it soon.

DB is notorious for saying stuff like that so they can get the commission. When I was in a wedding a year and a half ago-the saleslady was hellbent on getting us to order the dresses together because of 'dye lots' and that supposedly the color the bride wanted was going to be discontinued.

I just saw the same dress at the store in the color I had ordered back then about a month ago when I was at DB......

I went to DB recently to try on dresses and asked about dresses being discontinued.  I was told that their new catalogue comes out in January, and all of thier dresses may or may not be continued.  She basically didn't give me a straight answer.  If you have something that you absolutely want, I would order it now.  It basically seems like something can be discontinued at any time.

Thanks for all the advice.  Hopefully my BM's can/will all order soon then.
