Under garments

Ok, I looked through the first few pages and I couldn't find any posts.
I'm going in for my first dress fitting next week and she told me to bring my shoes and all of my under garments with me.
I am having cups sewn into my dress, but I'm not sure what I should wear for panties.
Are you ladies going sexy, lacey, comfy, etc?
I'm just not sure what I should be wearing.

Also, do you think bright colours will show through the layers of a wedding dress?

Re: Under garments

  • I would be worried about bright colors, personally.  I added a little bit of blue to my corset, but didn't want to go overboard because I didn't want it to show.

I just wore the Spanx power panties.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I'm just wearing a little light blue pair of boy shorts that I got with a free panty coupon from Victoria Secret.  Depending on your dress you probably won't be able to see colors.  I was wearing hot pink panties for the fitting I had today and you couldn't see them, but my dress is 2 layers of fabric plus a built in slip and crenoline

It depends on your dress, but for your fitting, for undergarments she means anything thats going to change your shape or where things go (ex. natural boobs don't sit the same as with a bra or body shapers that tuck you in/smooth you out). Don't wear a thong to your fitting; its just rude. Otherwise underwear is up to you. And if you want to wear the sexy stuff, do it for the wedding, not the fitting.
