Preserving dress for future use

Newbie here!  I bought my wedding dress a few months ago and have it stored in a clear dress bag provided by the dress shop.  It's hanging in a dark closet at my house.  I originally planned to get married in November but we decided to change the venue and date after we bought our house (we're now having our tiny wedding at home).  My question is: is the dress "safe" in the dress bag provided for the next 10 months or so, when I actually plan to get married??  All the research I've done on this has given me great ideas for when I actually want to preserve my gown but I want to be able to wear it in 10 months.

Thoughts?

You should store it in a "breathable" cloth bag. If the one they gave you is plastic I would switch it. Also if you can keep it flat, under a bed or something it should be just fine.

Yeah, cotton is the way to go. My girlfriends introduced me to these cute garment bags by Jendarling, and I'm getting one for my tux. This blue one is very wedding-y =)
