How tall were your heels?

Re: How tall were your heels?

  • I'm wearing 1 1/2" heels. My FI & I are the same height. I didn't want to be too much taller than him in the pictures, but I'm much more comfortable in a little bit of a heal than in flats.
Several of the ladies in my family have doned fuzzy animal slippers to their reception, but my shoes are so comfy, I don't know that I'll do that.

  • They're 4.5 inch heels.
I'm 5'3" and my fiance is 6' tall, so I'll still be shorter than him.
Since they are peep toe, they hold the sides of my feet and keep my toes from getting crunched (I have toe joint issues).
Also, they have a memory foam pad on the foot bed.
I've been wearing them around the house for a few hours at a time to break them in, I think I'll be okay with them for our 5 hour wedding cruise.  The tall platform sandal idea is a great one!  I may have to copy that...  ;)

  • I guess I must be a crazy person who is used to high heels! I am wearing hot pink shoes with a 5.25 inch heel for the ceremony and when I change into my short reception dress I will be keeping my high heels on! It really depends on how used to heels you are and the actual shoes. I have some that I can only wear a few hours and some all day.
  • My fiance is a foot taller than me, and I wear heels quite often. I haven't bought my shoes yet, but I plan on buying 2"-3" heels and will have cute flats if my feet start to bother me. I'll just have my coordinator set them underneath my chair along with my pashmina so I will have them if I need them.

If you go with heels, just make sure they are something you are comfortable in for at least 2 hours. The last thing I want on my mind while making our vows is how much my feet hurt. Good luck! I'm sure you will find something you love!
  • I'm wearing converse flats (they're a t-strap mary jane).  Heels were out of the question for a wedding in a garden...

  • Mine are about 3 inches, but I found these wonderful inserts called, Insolia.  They help to shift  your weight back to your heels.  They make heels much more wearable.
  • 4'' and I'm wearing them all night :-) Worth it.
