Pre-owned wedding gown?

I'm getting married in May 2014 and we have a teeny budget.  I know what style of dress I'm looking for -- tea length at longest, kind of a vintage/50s vibe -- but I have virtually no budget ($500 or less).

Does anyone have input about pre-owned dresses?  And where to look -- or not to look?

There are some great used wedding dress sites like preownedweddingdresses.com or you may even want to check department stores or David's Bridal. Both have great shorter white dresses that would be wonderful for wedding dresses. Another option would be to look at white bridesmaid dresses. Many of them are well under your budget and come in white. Plus, http://www.modcloth.com/shop/vintage-wedding-style has some great vintage looking dresses too.

You could easily find a gently used tea length gown for less than $500. You live in a big enough city that you could probably find one on the classifieds on this site or even Craigslist! You are starting early (I am also a May 2014 bride too!) so you can afford to be picky and wait to find one you can afford!

I stumbled upon Overstock a few days ago and didn't even realized that they carry wedding dresses. The tea length wedding dresses here are mostly less than $100. The longer ones look a little outdated and I think it's pretty pricey considering they are all pretty plain. Good luck!
