Strapless Body Suit

I have my first dress fitting in about 2 weeks.
I just got my shoes and need to get undergarments.
I was thinking of the longline bra thing, but my problem area is my tummy - so I am thinking it will push everything and just make my stomach look even biggeer.

So I was thinking of getting a strapless body suit.
Has anyone had one of these? Does it fall down?
Is it a pain in the ass to go to the bathroom?

Any recommendations or thoughts?

Thanks for the help!

  • I wore a shaper like what you describe, but instead of having a bra portion to it, it stopped at my ribs. I then had cups sewn into the gown in place of a bra.

The shaper didn't fall down. Going to the bathroom was a bit tricky, as I couldn't just lift my skirt: I had to take off the dress and pull it down. That may be hard or easy to do depending on your dress. Also, every shaping garment is different. Others may allow you to use the bathroom through a little hole, or may have snaps down there that let you go without taking everything off.

I had the same thing like pp.  I wore the higher power Spanx with cups sewn into my dress.  I didn't use the bathroom though.  Still not sure how I managed that.

  • I wear spanx all the time. The body suit doesn't fall down and stays in place all night. Many have "cut outs" so that you don't have to take them off to go to the bathroom.  They also have ones with out legs, so they are like strapless dresses.  I would definately go with spanx though, I've used cheaper versions and I don't think they hold up as well.  They fell down and didn't hold their shape as well.
  • Im going to use spanx..
  • I plan on having cups sewn into my dress and getting a sliip body shaper so that I can use the bathroom.  Probably something like this:
