my corset back

I had my first dress fitting last night and when the seamstress pulled the corset tight enough so the dress would not fall off, it left only a sliver of corset to be seen. If I leave it alone I will save $75. However, If I loose any weight due to pre-wedding stress, there is no room to pull the corset tighter and the alteration will have to be done last minute. I’ve been told in the past that the corset should be wider. Does it look okay as it is? What does everyone else think?

Re: my corset back

  • Definitely pay the money to make it wider...I have a dress with a corset back and am in the same boat - I know i've lost weight since I bought it and will be goign to my first fitting soon - I just know I'm gonna have to pay more money so that it can be wider...
  • Thank you all for the great advice!! If I make it wider, the dress will have to be taken in at the sides disrupting a lot of embroidery and bead work...that kind of makes nervous.
  • dont do anything that makes you nervous why dont you just wear a veil that covers it...i think its fine the dress is beautiful im sure noone will notice the width of the corset. just do what you feel is right.
