A Dress for a Large Chest

I will be getting married in 2011 and need help with finding a dress. My biggest problem? The girls. I'm only 5'5" (on a good day) and am a 32 DDD. I can't see finding something that will fit them being easy. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks for any help!

Re: A Dress for a Large Chest

• i am 5'4" with a 34DD chest and i with a V-neck dress.. would not recommend doing anything strapless. you dont want to be fussing with it during the wedding. or possibly a halter style dress would be pretty
• I am also a 34DD and was really impressed when I actually went and tried things on. I was sure I would end up with straps, but was amazed how comfortable I was in the strapless options and ended up with a strapless dress. It's all in the bra- try a good long-line. AMAZING. I would go with an open mind and just see what looks good on you.
• I'm just under 5'2, and am a 32DDD as well. I'm wearing Maggie Sottero's Lavina Royale, which is a strapless dress with a corset back - and I didn't even need to wear a bra underneath it. The corset style allows it to be pulled tightly enough that you're supported, and the bodice itself is boned, so it's as if I'm wearing a long-line strapless bra already. Don't fret, you'd be surprised what you can wear.

• I am a 36DD. Just purchased a gorgeous Demetrios dress - sweetheart neckline with cap sleeves!! It is so flattering I can hardly wait to wear it! Not sure if it is the neckline that is so beautiful, or if the dress itself is just cut really, really well...but there is barely any cleavage to be seen at all! The back is open with two ties (one at the top, and one at the bottom) - so it is very sexy without being too revealing or over-the-top.I recommend the sweetheart neckline highly, and cap sleeves are a a gorgeous option for those who don't want to go strapless!

• You'll just have to get a dress in a size that fits your chest and have the waist taken in. Almost anything with straps (not super thin ones) should look good.
• I'm a 32H and I'm wearing a strapless dress. Just make sure you get a good strapless bra. I purchased the Fantasie moulded strapless in a 32ff and it is the best strapless if you are busty.
• I thought I would have to have straps too. However my dress was strapless. I needed a ton of alterations bc I had to buy the dress to fit my bust measurement. I was worried about tugging at the dress all night, but I didn't touch/think about it once!
• I am 5.2 and a 36 DD - I sympathize - I did not want my girls out at all hahaI did find a strapless dress I fell in love with but I found a great seamstress who altered it and made it into a pretty off-the-shoulder look - no boobage! lolIt worked out really well. here is a link to my dress..it's cut at the bust in such a way that it does minimize toohttp://www.brides.com/fashion/dresses/gallery/wedding_dresses/vendor/designer/cosmobella/detail/179735?offset=48Good luck!

If you can accept halter style, you can try the David's Bridal Galina Signature SV9563. It will suit you.
• I'm a 34DDD at 5'4" and I bought a Jasmine dress. They do completely custom measurements- including length, bust, waist. I found that dropped waist, strapless dresses looked best because it elongates your body and with the custom measurements, completely will cover your breasts. It also makes your waist look teeny tiny. Here's a pic from my fitting last week (all I needed was a bustle):

• I wear anywhere from a 32 to a 34 DDD also. I'm between 5'6 and 5'7 and I wore a sweetheart strapless Maggie. I most definitely had some cleavage going that day but they stayed in place nicely with the boning and everything in the corset topped gown. Pic in siggy and many more in my married bio if you want to see.

• Sorry to piggyback... but for those who wore a good long-line strapless bra could you recommend one? I am also busty and looking for a superbra to make me forget my strapless dress and would LOVE some recommendations!
• IMHO I think large chested women look fantastic in strapless dresses. I'm not generally fond of halters because I find it just make the chest look larger. Although I'm not large chested so I can't comment on comfort, I think strapless looks the most flattering.
