Type of dress

I'm planning for either a late fall or early winter wedding. Is there a certain fabric that would be better for either season? TIA!

Re: Type of dress

  • I'm planning a cooler weather wedding as well, and I just bought a silk satin gown. It is rich, luxurious and definitely heavier than say taffeta or raw silk. So I would think any "heavier" fabric would be great for either.
  • Agree with PP, I think that silk satin looks great for fall/winter

  • Try something with sleeves, or at least a jacket.

  • I think you can wear whatever fabric you want.  I would suggest wearing something you like and looks good on you, and not get too focused on fabric...however, I agree with pp that satin is a heavier fabric so would be appropriate for the winter.  Taffeta, a lighter fabric than satin, also works very well for the winter.
