Dream Dress + Dyeable Shoes = Potential Disaster?

So I found the elusive dress and am now on the hunt for the shoes to match. I had just assumed that I would be purchasing dyeable shoes in order to get the perfect, vintage style I'm looking for in blue. But as I've been looking around on the various dyeable shoe sites, I've noticed blaring warnings: DYED SHOES ARE NOT WATERPROOF -- and I can't help but wonder, because I'm a realist ... or a pessimist ... what if it rains on my big day? Will the dye from my fabulous teal or navy shoes marr the hem of my $1300 dress?!?! If anyone can answer that question for me, I would be very much obliged. I do not want this to be an issue of trial and error. -Julie

Its a huge possibility that it will happen. It may not either but I would just try to find a pair of blue shoes that don't involve dyeing.

Do you have a pic of the dyeable shoes you want? Maybe someone can suggest a similar shoe that's already blue.

You might look at the shoes from Salon Shoes.  They have shoes in a variety of colors.  They are not dyed so there is not chance of the color running.

Fabulous suggestions all around -- thanks everybody!! here are a few of the styles that I was looking at if anyone comes across them in blue -- they're heels with about 2-2.5 inches because I'm 5'11 and don't want to cast a shadow on my FH If anyone can find anything, I would much appreciate it! It doesn't even have to rain for them to bleed.  You can get drips of condensation from your or someone else's drink, dew on the grass, food, any wet item really.  I would not get diable shoes under a wedding dress. I had a friend who's dress turned turqouise because her bm shoes were a little damp and then leaked onto her dress.

My shoes were dyed, and I didn't have any problems.  However, this is a very easy thing to prevent.  1) Go to Walmart (or any shoe store) and buy a waterproof spray.  It only costs a few bucks.  2) Spray shoes and let dry.  That's all it takes .

Mine were dyed and I didn't have a problem, however, I did have a backup pair just in case it did rain. Also, the guy who dyed mine told me you can't just spray them with the waterproof stuff, for some reason (it may alter the color or something) Don't know if that's true or not, but there ya go

Eh, I don't think that's true because I've seen other brides use the waterproof spray.  You could always test a small spot first just to make sure.
