Dress Undergarments

This may sound a little stupid but do I HAVE to wear a bra or whatever under my dress. I'll of course be wearing underwear but if the dress fits me and my chest, why do I have to wear a bra? My mom is wanting us to go shopping for undergarments on Saturday and I honestly don't see the point. Thoughts?

I'm sure you could go braless if the dress fits right, but you could also have cups sewn into the dress.  I think that's what I'm going to do, as even though my dress fits well in the bust (I'm actually going to have to take it out a little in the bust, I think), I'd prefer a little more lift.

Well, of course you don't have to. But there are some factors to consider... like is the dress strapless? Is your wedding going to be outdoors or inside, and in what season? Will you be dancing a lot? If it's outdoor summer, you might want the extra piece might help keep your dress from sliding down when you don't want it to.

It's not strapless, it's an inside wedding on the evening of Dec 5th and I don't think I'll be doing any wild dancing that would cause me to bust out.

I've been pondering this on and off as well, but so far my thoughts run like this:1) When I was a BM, I wore a well-fitted corset strapless bra.  Over the course of the evening, the boning started to stab me and my zippered dress loosened and started to slide and I was yanking it up... and a lot of the yanking was because it would slide enough for my bra to show.  Didn't want that in the pictures!2) When I started trying on wedding dresses, I assumed I'd need a corset bra (I wear a G cup, I assume I need extra-super support all the time, but especially with a strapless dress!).  However, when I started trying on the corset-back dresses?  For the first time in my life, I felt supported enough.  So right now I'm leaning toward no bra for my wedding.  And with the corset-back, if it loosens through the day... it can be tightened more! :)I don't know if your dress is a corset or a zipper, but right now I feel with a zipper I'd need the bra and with a corset I don't.  But I would definitely assume that the dress is going to loosen by the end of the day.
