Veil Fail. :(

So I went to David's Bridal (and they live up to their awful reviews BTW) to pick up my dress and discovered they ordered it in Diamond White instead of Ivory. We are 8 months from the wedding, so it didn't really stress me out. I rolled my eyes and moved on.I was looking at veils and fell in love with this absolutely gorgeous Cathedral Length one with scattered lace appliques. Of course they only had it in white so we had to order it. So we get up to the counter to find my consultant frantically whispering on the phone... only to find out that my veil had been discontinued and they could not order it anymore. There were NO apologies. I even talked to the manager and she was completely unapologetic. I am sickened by the lack of customer service. As soon as they figured out that I wouldn't just buy another veil they totally stopped being customer-service oriented. What do I do now?Does anyone have any advice on looking for this veil used or resale?Whats sad is in those 10 minutes of wearing that veil, I got so attached and in love with it that I can't imagine wearing anything else. It's miserable. :(

Re: Veil Fail. :(

  • If anyone has any leads, the style number is David's Bridal VLC122.My heart is breaking :(
  • Check eBay.  I got my veil there for $14.99 and it's exactly the same as what I'd get for 8 times the price in a bridal store.

  • I am also one that loves cathedral length veils with a full A-Line dress. I would check oncewed.com and preownedwedding dresses.com If worse comes to worse you could find one one ebay or buy one similar to the one you found. I'd also check back with Davids to see if you could buy the floor sample. Sorry I can't be of more helpOh I completly know about Davids customer service. While trying a dress on a consultant walked right in on me while I was changing. I also feel so high pressure sales there and I get frustrated that I try on a bunch of dresses and the consultants start getting irritated
  • Yeah, you should call around to other DBs in the are to see if they have the sample veil in ivory that you could buy from them. Def check out ebay and the preowned websites. I'm sure someone on here has to have this veil.... maybe you could find a knottie that could sell it to you!
  • Do you have a picture of it? Or can you describe it well? Talk to a local seamstress and have it custom-made for you. Or try Occansey Designs, or an Etsy.com seller. Plus you will likely pay a LOT less than you would from DB. Salon veils are a gigantic ripoff.

  • Could you buy the white one and dye it? Like make really really really weak tea ( 2 tea bags and a bath tub full of water) and dip the white veil in for a short time.I'm sorry if that's a ridiculous suggestion, but if DB would sell you the white one cheap then it's worth a shot.
