Re: Running of the Brides?

  • I did it. although i was one of the psycos that went in the morning. i have heard that even if you go in the afternoon you will still have selection. i do not know if the cleveland one is in the store, but if it is not remember if you are at all a bit modest you might be in shock as people try on dresses in the middle of the aisles. the dresses will not be in any size order so you might have t try on a lot of dresses.(I tried on about 30) I found a 1500 dress for 250. THAT is the best thing about it. the deals...
  • I went to the Boston one in August and if the Cleveland one is anything like the one in Boston, I'd suggest going around 10 or 11am or even after (when the tradings are over), unless you have a huge team of ppl going with you who will hog dresses for you.  If you can, bring your own mirror.  Also, be aware that most of the gowns are in ivory.  There are some gorgeous designer dresses at awesome prices.   Plan to stay for a long time trying on dresses.  I didn't get a dress because I wanted a diamond white gown (I somehow is very sensitive about the color of the gown) and I didn't have enough time to comb through all the diamond white dresses because people I went there with didn't want to stay over 1.5 hr...  Bummer.GL!

  • I went in jan to the one in Columbus.  It was awesome!  I also went very early in the morning (4:30am!), waited in line, and did the huge rush into the store.  We stayed for about 3 hours and I had 4 people with me.  When I left around 11am, there were a lot less people there, and still plenty of dresses left...however.... my favorite part of the shopping was the "running".  We made t-shirts and signs etc.  I had a great time!p.s. i bought a dress for $250!!  (Originally $1K)Good Luck!

  • I went to the Boston one this summer. We went around 1pm. It was really nice to just look through all the dresses without the stress of fighting over them. I ended up purchasing a Kenneth Pool ballgown for $699!!! If your not set on a specific designer or style it can be a great opportunity. I would have never thought of purchasing a ballgown, but I just loved the way I felt in it. One word of advice...double and triple check the dresses for damaged. Some do have stains, you just want to be sure it can be cleaned before committing to purchasing the dress. ~Law
  • i went.  total waste of time.  dresses were dirty and ripped and in most case huge for my body and would need to spend hundreds on alterations and cleaning.  if you do go, bring a mirror, a friend, wear socks, a bra and underware you don't mind being seen in, hair ties, open mind.
