RK Bridal Rave!

Hi Everyone!! I know a lot of people ask about RK Bridal, so I thought I would let you know about my experience. I went there today and found my perfect dress!!! (Maggie - Gatsby). I did get there right when it opened so I was one of the first people in a dressing room. Even only a half hour later the list was getting quite long so I am glad I followed the adivse of others to get there first thing. I knew that I wanted to see specific dresses so it helped when looking for dresses to try on. I also got the BEST consultant - Cheryl. I showed her pictures and dresses I liked and she picked a few others for me - all within my budget. At the end it was down to one I picked and one she picked. She was absolutely fantastic and so friendly. I wasn't expecting to get my dress today - but they had such a huge selection. I had never even see the Gatsby dress anywhere before and I was just loved it the second I put it on. I am not going to wear it with the staps or little belty thing - so it looks totally different from the pic on the site. It is also the champaigne with pewter accents over light gold (or something like that). So if you have an idea of what you want and can get there right when it opens it can be a really good experience. My mom even hugged my consultant Cheryl on the way out! I can see how it can be frustrating because there was definitely a wait and just a sea of dresses - so it can be overwhelming. But like I said, if you have tried dresses on elsewhere and have an idea as to what you want, it can be a great experience! The prices were fantastic too!

Re: RK Bridal Rave!

  • Hey! Thanks for your post.  I also had a great experience there -- with Cheryl! Was there the moment it opened.  Found a Maggie Sottero, ordered it (of course, I'm having second thoughts, but more on that in another post).  Here's my problem/question as it relates to yours -- I have read in many, many places by many different brides that the alterations department there is, simply put, LOUSY.  The seamstresses apparently do not speak English, it is a rush job (for no small fee either), the bustle breaks, things are not done right or evenly, and so forth.  So I am literally thinking of whisking my dress right outa there the moment it comes in and heading for a seamstress in town, Manhattan.  What do you gals think/know about this??
