After the wedding...

I read a review online of my dress from someone who altered and dyed the dress to make it wearable again. The dress is simple enough that it would make a lovely summer special occasion dress. What do you think? Has anyone done this?

Re: After the wedding...

  • That's what I'm planning to do.  I'll cut it to tea length and either dye it a pale color to wear for summer, or a dark color for evening and winter occasions.  Then I'll have the detachable train and the material I cut from the skirt preserved so we can do something sentimental with them down the line.I'm definitely planning on finding a professional seamstress to do this for me, though.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
