Rose Gold engagement ring

Recently I've fallen in love with rose gold. We haven't purchased my engagement ring yet and I really want rose gold, but I'm not a big fan of it with a diamond. What are your opinions on other stones for an engagement ring? Or what about a pearl? I know now days people are even getting tattoo rings so a different stone can't be that strang, but I don't know if it seems cheap to have a different stone.

Re: Rose Gold engagement ring

  • There's nothing wrong with getting whatever you want for your ring.  The one thing about pearls is I think they are not as easy to clean, which is good to keep in mind since your engagement and wedding rings will be constantly dirty from being on your hands.  You might need a special pearl jewelry cleaner.  Go to a jeweler with a good selection of settings and gem stones, and they can show you different options so you can find something you like or give you information about having something custom made.

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

    Absolutely not.<div>

</div><div>I agree with PP about staying away from a pearl - they aren't durable enough to stand up to every day wear on your hand.  Even pearl earrings worn daily will "wear out" after a few years.</div>

I have have a rose gold wedding band with pink diamonds while my ering is white gold with diamonds. I think like pp mentioned it will look great with a different colored diamond or different stone completely.

  • My mom has a rose gold ring with rubies and small diamonds in it. The red looks really pretty with the rose gold. I also imagine that saphires would be really pretty too. Nothing wrong with different colored/non diamond stones either, diamond engagement rings are a relatively recent thing.

  • I have a friend who got a rose gold ring made with a gorgeous Raspberry Rhodolite stone and chocolate diamonds! It looks amazing and is similar to a LeVian, but looks better IMO.  I am all for non-traditional e-rings!  Go for it.

  • I found this ring and I love the simplicity, but I think that maybe it being so simplistic that the gemstone looks a bit odd. Anyways I think it's really cute. It's a cushion pink touramaline in rose gold.

I also thought that the oval pink tourmaline with rhodolite garnet and diamond accents was really pretty. I just don't want it to look to costumy.

Would you consider a "chocolate diamond"? They look amazing in rose gold... I have one for my engagement ring from LeVian but chose white gold.  Almost all of their rings can be ordered in rose (they call it strawberry).. Here's examples of their chocolate diamonds in strawberry gold:
