Jewelry

I am lost on finding any jewelry.  PIB of my dress (sorry no PIP - FI's within sight of the screen).  I'm looking for a necklace of some sort and earrings, but I really have no inspiration for what or what websites to search.  Help, please!

Re: Jewelry

  • Took me awhile to find my stuff too - jewelry is hard.  I ended up getting my stuff here and really liked it:  http://www.greatdaybridal.com

Also had this site bookmarked but you have to find a website or store that sells the stuff:  http://www.mariellonline.com

Love your dress - is the top and the waist detailing just a rhinestone kind of pattern?  Can't really tell from the photo.
  • Not sure how much you want to spend but check out this site for ideas:

(above link takes you to a page about choosing a necklace style)

Less expensive but a good shop (I ordered weeind-related items from them ; not jewelry, however)

I love the simplicity of your dress. I would stick with a simple, single-strand necklace or maybe a pendant, then depending on what your style is, stud earrings or not-too-large dangling earrings with a hint of sparkle.

  • All I knew is that I wanted long earrings, so I searched for "long earrings" on eBay.  Took sorting through about 3,000 pairs, but I did find exactly what I was looking for, and for $7.

Whiteaisle.com and 1928.com have some really nice jewelry, too.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I think it's easiest to search if you figure out what style of jewelry you are going for. Are you a pearls girl? Do you like the crystal or rhinestone look? Do you have a headpiece that you want to somewhat match the jewelry to? Do you like chandelier earrings?

Personally I think pearl drop earrings with some sparkle would look great and a similar necklace. I am terrible at looking online when I am not sure of what I want, so I just went to a bunch of stores to search. Nordstrom's and Macy's have jewelry sets that can be pretty cheap, but really nice.

  • Look for something unique to you that enhances your look and the ook of your dress. If I don;t make my own jewelry, i will search for something bold and elegant. Since I make jewelry, it says a lot that I am looking at amysbridalaccessories.com. Also Dillards has good choices. You sometimes have to keep checking to see new stock.

  • Thanks all!  Sorry for not responding during the day - I got stuck at a conference and banquet with no knot access.

My hair's going to be up, so I'm thinking an earring with some presence, but a relatively simple pendant-type necklace.  The beading is a pattern of pearls and flower shaped crystals, so most anything will compliment it.

I'll check out all the links you all posted tomorrow.  Thanks so much!
