BM bought the wrong fabric...

I just got a panicked text from my MOH that she got her dress and realized that it's "charmeuse" instead of cotton. I had asked that all of my girls find a cotton-sateen dress around knee-length from DB. BMs are in black, MOH in another color.

I have no problem with the mistake - the dress looks super cute on her and she loves it. She keeps insisting that she will buy another dress, since it's "my day"... really, I don't care. And I don't want her to be out more money, especially since my wedding is 3 weeks after hers and she is still in college. I told her we'll make it work.

My question now is, since she is the only one who has purchased a dress so far, should I change the fabric to Charmeuse or allow the ladies a choice? I think the only difference is that it tends to be a shinier fabric than the cotton-sateen I'd initially picked out. Is it going to look odd to have some ladies in a shinier fabric than others? (I have 5 BMs plus 1 MOH.)

SInce she's in a different color, it really doesn't matter. I think the only time the fabric thing matters is when it's for colors that really look different fabric to fabric.

Thanks ladies - that's what I keep trying to tell her. She's in a separate color to begin with, so I doubt people will be able to tell. She called and DB said she could exchange it, but I told her not to: said if she liked it (which she does) and it was the right color (which it is), then she should keep it.

People will definitely NOT notice that she is in a different fabric- they will notice that it's a separate colour because she is the Maid of Honour and that is it. She shouldn't exchange it! The important thing is that she likes it and it's the colour that you chose. She should keep it for sure! Just reassure her that this is how you truly feel. She sounds like a real sweetheart to worry so much about how you feel about it.
