2nd thoughts on GM's attire...

I know there's been 2nd thoughts on wedding dresses and the common advice has been to not shop around once you buy your dress...but here is my situation...

Guys will be wearing gray tuxedos. As of now, FI will have lighter gray vest/tie, and GM will have wisteria vest/tie (matches BM dresses). I've been looking at various wedding pictures and wonder if I should have the GM in gray vest/tie, FI in white vest/gray tie. FI finally admitted he isn't in love with the wisteria vest/tie but said he went along with it because it's our color scheme and the WP will match.

What do you guys think-is wisteria vest/tie overkill and we'd be better off having their boutonnieres tie the color in to the whole party? Or do we stick with our 1st choice?

  • My vote is to just have the boutonniers tie in the color and go with gray ties and vests for the GM.

I agree.  Wisteria for the men is waaaay too much matchy-matchy.

It was our original intention to go with gray/gray and once the salesman heard what color my BM dresses were, he really started pushing wisteria, having FI be different and at the time made 100% sense. This is our tux gray:

    And our tux with wisteria:

I am definitely leaning towards the 1st. Tuxedos are already reserved and apparently I can call in and change the colors, so may just have to do that tomorrow! Thanks, nice to know I am not overthinking and should change! If we do change to gray/gray, should FI also stay with gray/gray or have a white vest/gray tie so he can be "different"? I originally was thinking his boutonniere would match my bouquet, and have the GM's match the BMs bouquets. Obviously everuone knows he is the groom, but he would like something different from the other guys.
