Wedding Gown/ BM Dress too similar??

I have chosen a beautiful, white pickup gown, which will have a chocolate brown sash. My colors are chocolate brown and blue (a light, bright blue, kind of like a Tiffany blue), so we found bridesmaid dresses which are chocolate brown with a blue sash. Problem is, they are also pickup gowns. The bridesmaids who were with me at the time assured me that we would not look weird wearing dresses so similar to each other, but now I'm having regrets, and so are some other bridesmaids who were not there to see the dresses together.
Do you think that it is bad to have the wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses be similar designs??

I actually like when the bride's and BM dresses are kind of similar. Is your dress at least a little more elaborate or "bridal?"

Also, is the skirt of your dress fuller? If not maybe you could wear a crinny to make your dress poofier and the smaller skirt on theirs would differentiate them. I think what you described sounds pretty.

I like it when there is a bit of a theme to the dresses. There's no reason why they shouldn't be simliar...in fact a lot of brides specifically want that. It might help us out it you showed us some pictures though.
