Should I wear a headband

I'm getting married on June 27 so the countdown is on!
I'm 5'0 and petite and I have this fear that if I put a headband in my hair it will make me look like a little girl with a crown.
This is my dress San Patrick Bienal http://fashionbride.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/bienal.jpg

To me, I feel like a lot is going on in the dress so I don't want to wear a necklace. I don't have my ears pierced so I won't be wearing earrings. I don't know. I just feel like I should have something in my hair.

Any suggestions? I want my hair down in half updo or all down.

What about a flower in your hair or a comb instead of the headband/tiara? You may have to buy a few different things or get your hair trial and then go shopping for headpieces and experiment with what you like and what looks good.
  • Your dress is very sophisticated, and I think a headband might interfere with the look (to me, headbands seem to go more with the princess-y look). Since you're not wearing any jewelry, what about a sparkly hair clip or comb? It would be far enough away from the dress that it wouldn't be sparkle overload, but it would add a little something special.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That dress is so sleek and classy that I'd keep everything else sleek and classy. No headband, but maybe a pretty hair comb or something.
  • I agree with all of the PP. Headbands to me evoke a slightly more inncocent sweet bride look, and that dress is more sexy glamourous. I would look for a sparkly comb or hair pins instead.
  • I agree with PP that a comb would look better with your gown. But to be honest, I think a pair of drop earrings would really complete the look. I don't have pierced ears either, and wore screw-back earrings with my gown. Screw-backs can be hard to find but there are some great vintage ones on ebay. My favorite source for wedding clip-on earrings is cinderellaspumpkin.com.
  • What about a flower...

This Stella & Dot flower has a hair clip attached and is absolutely chic!
