Menswear...please help!

We are having a nighttime, late November wedding in South Carolina. We do not want it formal as our ceremony will be outside at night in a garden, plus that is not our style. We plan on lighting the ceremony by hanging mason jars with candles inside.
Being a pale-skinned red head, my dress is "iced gold" (extremely light gold). My bridesmaids will be in navy dresses. Our accent color is a limish green.
What color should the guys wear? We want suits, as we think they will best fit our style. Some ideas being tossed around are wheat and gunmetal grey. What color shirts? Vests or no? Navy ties or a navy/green stripe? Any help will be very appreciated!

  • I would go with a simple black suit, white shirt, and maybe a blue tie (similar to the color of the bridesmaids dresses), or blue with a lime green pattern.   Chances are the guys will already own a black suit, and if they don't, it will be a great investment.

</div><div>Black suits are limited to funerals and nightlife, really. A gent will get much more mileage from navy or grey (charcoal or medium color). Even khaki brown is more wearable than black.</div><div>
</div><div>OP, either shade of grey suit would look fantastic with your bridal party colors. As for including vests, that's a matter of preference. If you do include them, I'd recommend they be the same color/material as the suits. White shirts would provide a nice contrast for the suit color and whatever tie you pick. The nice thing about going with a grey suit is that you have a lot of latitude in tie color.

  • Wow we are almost having the same wedding!  I'm also a fair-skinned redhead, wearing a pale blush gown, my bridesmaids are wearing navy, my flowers are pale pink/coral/peach and we're also doing it outdoors.  My groom and his groomsmen are wearing dark grey suits with navy ties.  I haven't bought the ties yet, but I am thinking something like this.  He actually needed a suit for a friend's wedding a few months back, so we decided that was the time to buy his wedding suit and we figured charcoal grey would get more wear than most other colors.  He's already worn it 3 times, so I feel like we made the right decision.

  • Our  guys are wearing white shirt, black pants and dark purple tie for our late June, outdoor, evening wedding
I found a couple of great places to get good ties for a good price if you are interested
