DONT GO TO DAVIDS BRIDAL!!!!!!!!

I am sooo upset. I bought my dress AND had all my girls get their dresses at Davids Bridal in upstate NY....NOT COOl. The dresses are fine but the customer service is HORRIBLE! And if they ask you to sign up or even sit through their "photgraphy deal" RUN!NNNN!!
They didnt tell us about the $200 cancellation fee and after several calls to the manager of the store AND to corporate, nothing was done and I was given an attitude AT THAT!! WOW...SOOO done with their store and will forever tell every future bride to STAY AWAY!! There are soo many other nice places to shop for Bridal stuff...David's should be the LAST on your list.

  • I had a GREAT experience at David's... I didn't plan to get my dress there, but knowing that it would save money AND save money for my bridesmaids (important to me), I decided to stop in and look. Ended up having a WONDERFUL experience... customer service was awesome, not pushy in any way, took all the time I needed (two days in a row!). In contrast, I contacted a more upscale boutique here and they were insanely rude to me-- enough that I cancelled my appointment. It's true, customer service really does sell the dress! Sorry your experience was not a good one :(

  • Yeah, I think it all depends on where the store is. The stores in Oklahoma have been nothing but wonderful and helpful with my bridesmaids dresses.
  • I didn't buy my dress there but we will be getting the girls dresses their just because its convenient and they offer such a wide variety.

With that said, I went with a couple of my BMs a few weekends ago just to checkout styles and colors and they were so pushy. Not necessarily rude, the women was very helpful but she started pulling mother of the bride dresses out. When I told her that we wouldn't be shopping for that for awhile because my mom just shelled out cash for my dress she tried to get me to sign up for their credit card.

With that said, a friend of mine bought two dresses from them and returned both because she hated them after the fact. They let her return both dresses and use the credit to by mine and the other BMs dresses. So I have to give them kudos for being flexilble. Most places would not do that.
  • It really does depend on the store. I went to three different DBs in the bay area and had a horrible customer service experience at all three. But, I know other brides have had good experiences with them.
  • My experience at David's was just fine, I got a beautiful dress at a great price. My sales person was not pushy, however she was very busy and not fully attentive but my sister helped me in and out of dresses.

I suggest reading all of your wedding contracts before you sign anything. Just about every vendor I have booked or contacted has some form of non-refundable deposit. That said, I would never buy photography from a dress store.

  • I've heard SOOO many complaints from many brides/bridesmaids for this store this past week...WOW...
Glad some of you had good experiences but honestly, I am hearing the majority saying the opposite.

  • DB is hit or miss. Here in northern NJ it's a total miss.

People who have negative experiences are more likely to complain and/or write negative reviews. Honestly, I had a fantastic experience with my DB and got complimented on my dress all the time. It's a shame some people have bad experiences, that's for sure, but it's a chaIn-customer service is bound to vary. If someone were to ask me, I'd tell them honestly that DB was the perfect choice for me and would recommend my store in a heartbeat (especially the sales assistant!) Even my alterations experience was a great one, with prices on par with my (very expensive) NYC area.

  • I also agree that the customer service is not good. There are always more customers in the store than there are associates. Even though the service was subpar, I bought my dress and my bridesmaids' dresses there. My consultant ended up picking the dress I choose. My mom & I went back without an appointment just to "browse" some MOB dresses & we were told we had to have an associate assigned to us before my mom could even use a fitting room. Not the best experience in customer service, but so far the prices have been a winner.
