I need some creative ideas :-)

Hi Ladies!
I know I have not been around very much, but I am hoping to finally get our wedding plans moving. We had been debating moving our wedding up, but basically it came down to buying our house this year as the priority. We have decided on September 24, 2011 as our wedding date though! I am really ready to start hunting for our reception location, but I am really struggling. Basically, I want to stick to $5000 for our reception. We really would like to invite 125 ( this number allows for family, and a few close friends) We know not everyone will be able to attend, but I am going with a rough estimate of $40pp. I know a place has to exist for this price! We are not opposed to a tented reception either. We are hoping to do either a very rustic (barn, exposed beam, country) feel, or the exact opposite of beach, sand, shells etc. I have already looked at Spring Hill and The Oaks. Spring Hill was nice, but I didn't love it. Scott does not like the idea of the Oaks. I think we want something a bit different. We would prefer to stick to the Seacoast, Lakes Region, or White Mountain areas. I looked through the NH knottie page, but I didn't have any luck. Please let me know if I over looked something. I am open to any suggestions :-)

TIA!

I know Pat's Peak is pretty affordable.  And I think their space is pretty rustic looking.  I think it can be done, you just have to be creative!  Good luck!

I'm not sure how much they are, but I briefly looked at the Shattuck Country Club in Jaffery.  They have beams and seem to be very beautiful.  I'm looking at them now for my RD and they're pretty reasonable.  You can get married at Cathedral of the Pines down the street (outdoor over looking Mt. Monadnock) that's where I'm getting married, but the price went up a lot so depending on your budget that might throw you off.  If you call Shattuck, see if you can speak to Phebe if she still works there.  I went to college with her, she's a sweetie and will be a big help.

I'd also say look into Pat's Peak, I know it's very pretty up there.  Not sure on price though.

    GL!

Thanks girls. We were really impressed with the prices at Pat's Peak and we made an appointment to go check it out early next month.

    Any other ideas?

I thought that might fit the bill.  Laughing  My co-worker got married there several years ago and was very pleased with everything.  They used the sleigh room for their fall wedding and it looked really nice.  Good luck!

I was really impressed with the sales manager on the phone too. She was very nice and seemed very down to earth. She seemed to understand that my focus was on providing our guests with a nice time, and that although I want to provide them with a nice meal, I also don't want it to take up 80% of my budget. She seemed willing to work with us, and I like that about vendors. So many seem to get stuck in their ways and they aren't willing to work outside of the box. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I am very excited to go see it!

Dell Lea Country Club in Chichester is the cheapest I have seen. I am actually checking it out this weekend. They don't have a website or anything but I have seen wedding photos on Facebook and such and it looks nice. It has great places to take pictures outside. Their number is 603-435-8479.

Grappone Courtyard Marriott and the Holiday Inn in Concord are also cheap-ish options. My estimates were a little over 5000 for 110 people.

Other than that I would try checking out some B&Bs that let you have a tent there. I don't have any info on that because we're not interested in a tent wedding but it seems like there is a lot out there all over the state.
