Dress Secret

Is anyone else finding it hard to keep their dress a secret from their fiance?
I ended up buying my dress 11 days after getting engaged. Usually my fiance is the first person I send picture messages to for big events (we were long distance for a while).

So I'm quite amazed at myself for keeping my dress a secret from him for 11 months already. Only 3 and a half more to go! As the day gets closer and the excitement builds, I find myself wanting to share the details with him. He is my best friend after all. But I can't because I want him to be surprised when I walk down that aisle.

Please tell me I'm not the only one !

Absolutely! You're not alone. I kinda always made fun of those girls on "saying yes to the dress" who brought along their fiance's. But now, I can absolutely understand. It's funny because we don't always have the same aesthetic. He thinks I look best when I'm sweaty and gross with my hair in a ponytail from the gym. Then I spend 2 hours getting all dolled up for a nice night out and he barely notices. I just want him to love it and think I look amazing and sexy. I think I'm afraid he'll be underwhelmed or something. I keep wanting to show him a picture! I just keep reminding myself - ok, we are not traditional, but this is the one tradition I really want to keep. Wishing us both luck in keeping a secret

You are definitely not alone! I found it hard just making a decision without his input!

I did hand him a catalog from David's Bridal and ask him to show me what he liked/didn't like before I went shopping, just to get an idea, but otherwise it's all a secret!

its probably the hardest thing we've dealt with wedding planning! I think he knows what its going to look like, but he doesnt know? he wont look at any wedding dress now (only when watching SYTTD) .. but based off what we like, im sure he knows the style .. But congrats on the 3 mnths to go! I have 4, so hopefully ill get too preoccupied with other stuff so I stop getting tempted!

Yup its hard, and I feel bad because he really wants to see it--but its the one thing I want a surprise.  Its easier that my dress will not be in for another month and will be with my parents until the wedding 4 hours away.  Wedding is in June, so I do not have to hide it for too much longer!  Otherwise if I had it in my posession, I would for sure give in and show him.

Yeah I'm lucky because right now the seamstress has it in her shop to work on, which is located in my hometown 4 hours away. I couldn't bring it home with me otherwise the temptation to put on a fashion show for him would be too great.

I keep almost blowing the secret by letting my fiance scroll through photos on my phone, or leaving email attachments up on the computer.  Que slow motion dive ontop of whatever technology device to block the photo.
