My hunt for a new dress, what do you think?

So I've decided to look for a new dress although my original one I picked is coming at the end of September.  There are a few factors that are driving me to do this but I need to do it for my piece of mind.  (I never loved the back of it and found out my girlfriend wore the same dress for her wedding.)  Moving on!

Last weekend I started my new search.  This time around I'm doing it the right way.  I'm going to go to a few bridal shops and think about it before I make another hasty decision.  This is what I found so far.  Tell me what you think.  (Gonna keep looking around too but these are in the running so far.)
That was dress #1
That was Dress #2
Lastly dress 3

  • I voted Dress #3 with #2 a close 2nd but IMO I prefer the Sweetheart vs. straps.
  • #3 flatters you more than the other two.  And like PP said, I'm more of a sweetheart fan than straps.

  • I like dresses 1 and 3 but voted for 1.

  • I voted for #1.  I think you look great in dress 1 and the straps make you seem smaller on top (not as broad shouldered).  Hope you don't get offended by that, but I am broad shouldered too so straps typically look better (I had a one shouldered gown for my wedding).

Also, #2 and #3 just looks so "typical" to me..just my opinion.

  • I think #1 is the prettiest of all 3.
  • I also think that #1 is the most flattering.

  • See, I thought #1 overwhelmed you, as it closes up the area on top. I really liked #2, however, if you're into the whole "princess" style that I see you leaning towards (and I believe #2 is a Maggie Sottero, am I correct?) check out the Maggie Sottero Mona Lisa. Its alot like #2 but with a little more detail in the skirt and a sweetheart top.

OOh I like that dress you showed me!  Ok, now I gotta go find that one!!  (And yeah, princess style is me all the way.  I've always loved it.   I'm getting married in a super ornate Cathedral so that is also something I'm keeping in mind.)

I agree with PP about going with a Maggie Sottero dress as well.  She has some amazing larger and ornate dresses to choose from.

Here are a few that I thought would look really good on you...
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3624 (if you really want a lot of bling)

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3465 (if you want to make a statement but in a more "minimalist way")

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3501 (kind of partial to this one because of the one shoulder LOL!)

ETA:  But I still really like dress #1 from your photos!

  • Voted dress 3 but 1 would be the runner up

i actully voted for 3 because i feel like 1 make your shoulders look very broad. the angle of the straps is wrong for you.  </div>
  • I'm voting for number 2, because I think it's a good compromise between number 1 and 3.

I hate to say it, but with number 1, I was like "mmhmm, bling, mmhm, ruffles, mmmhm.. pretty veil, oh!  There's a girl in there!"  IMO your dress shouldn't distract from your face.  You're the main centerpeice, and the most beautiful element of the wedding, not the dress.

Number 3 could be accessorized, so that's a bonus, but it is a bit plain.

Number 2 is very nice middle ground between the other two.  It has the nice bling that draws attention, but doesn't overwhelm you so that you're the second thing that people look at.
