Garter question

I feel like this is a dumb question but I need to know the answer so here it is. Which garter gets tossed? And do you wear them at the ceremony or just put them on for the reception? I am so confused!

Actually, its tradition to wear them for the ceremony, but if they are uncomfortable, you can just put it on for the reception. My friend was actually allegic to the garter she got(didn't realize until trying it on and wearing it about 5 minutes) and her H hid it up his sleeve so when he went up to pull the garter off he pulled it out of his sleeve. Only a few of us knew that happened.

I actually have 3 garters. I got a set, one to keep and one to toss, but they are so great, I'm having one kept in my mom's hope chest and one preserved with my dress. I got a cheapo from Michaels to toss.

I got one from Michaels and i will only wear one... I dont know if its comfortable or not ... if its not then ill just put it on before tossing it... I dont care much about it i bought it for 5 bucks soo who ever catches it can keep it i dont care...

I actually have 3. I got a pink set- a toss and a keepsake and my grandma got me a blue one.  I'm going to wear the blue one from my grandma and the pink toss one.

You put them on before the ceremony when you get dressed.  You usually toss the smaller one, the less fancy one.  Of course if you want to keep the simpler one for yourself, toss the other.
