So I purchased my dress from the Tampa Alfred Angelo store. My consultant was great and ONE of the two managers was wonderful. So I decided to drive and hour each way for the fittings thinking if I went thought THEIR seamstress I would be safe.
Well, my consultant put the dress on and exclaimed I could have gone down a size or two. The seamstress apparently disagreed and took the lace up back and pulled it super tight so the lacing was NOT in a V but pulling at the sides and said I didn't need a side seam. She did my bustle and my hem...my bustle ties are BRIGHTLY colored and the booby cups she put in are really small. Oh and the manager on duty said, "Well, you could have it altered so it is too small for you if you really want". I also felt uncomfortable with the way I looked in my dress and started to have body issues....
I left there unhappy and took it to a seamstress in town (tonight) who proceeds to tell me the cups the other woman used were meant for a juniors dress (they were teeny!) and she had to cut them out as they were also sewn in too high. THEN she tells me she has to take the dress in 3 inches...a size and a half to two sizes down. When I was all pinned up it was STUNNING.
So girls, if you have a feeling something is not right...SPEAK UP! I almost walked down the aisle with an ill fitting dress.
AAAHHHHH!!!
Thank you for the vent:)
