skinny girl wants a flattering wedding gown!

so, as it is, i can't even fill out a flattering top, let alone a wedding gown!  i haven't started dress shopping yet, but i'm starting to look around.  i'm not sure what would be the most flattering style for my frame: 5'6" 105 lbs. 32A

any ideas...other than a boob job ;)

Something with ruching.  My best friend (and MOH) wore a mermaid style gown for my wedding with ruching.  She is about 6", skinny as a rail, and probably a 32A too.  Her MOH dress also had a sweetheart neckline.

    Try something like this maybe...

Best option is to just go try things on. Have fun, try everything, and come back with pics! Smile

  • thanks for the ideas :)  they will definitely help in my search
  • Here's a picture of her in her dress to get an idea.  I cropped her head off since I didn't ask if she'd care if I posted a pic of her.

  • My Maggie dress added a little "oomph" to my frame, lol

It has a cross-over ruched sweetheart neckline (super awesome for tiny chests), and hip detail, plus the seams run along each side (not hidden, or princess, whatever) so my tatas AND my hips are actually visible- in this dress I'm not shaped like a pole!

It's Maggie Sottero Melissa- I've purchased the "bouquet" version but will be replacing the flowers myself.

  • I'm about your size..maybe an inch shorter.  My dress has ruching and some glitz.  The waste is dropped so it really accents my back side as well.  Also, the person doing your alterations may be able to give you some extra support up top.  Look at corset tops too.  They really help to push the ladies up to give a fuller look.

  • This is just another suggestion you may want to try; I dont know how this might look on you since you are shorter than me, but I am pretty thin, almost same chest size but 5'10, and i wore an empire waist gown that had a slight sweetheart on top with a bow. Then for the bottom part it had an underneath layer that was very fitted but soft layers of tulle over that that flowed out so it added some "bulk" to my frame. I know a lot of shorter people say they dont like this style b/c it makes them look pregnant, but it was flattering on me. just thought you might want another suggestion to try and see!
