For those doing the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue (and a sixpence for your shoe), what are you doing for each? PIP if you can.

(I know we discussed this a while back, but I'm guessing more of you know now)

I'm still figuring it out, so far I have:

New: My earrings



Blue: You can't see it in the pic, but the inside of my garter has a little piece of blue fabric.



No idea yet for old or borrowed...

And my mom bought me a royal wedding sixpence when she was in the UK last year, so apparently that goes in my shoe.

Old: I'll be wearing my grandmothers pearls.

New: No idea, probably underwear

Borrowed: I'll be carrying my grandmother bible, which techincally currently belongs to my Aunt.

Blue: My e-ring has saphires

Borrowed: Wearing my other grandmother's pin in my hair (technically my mom gave it to me, but I will probably give it back to her)

old: diamond wedding band that was my cousin's. Wearing it on my right hand.  it's vintagey looking while still being classic. 

new: could be anything...shoes, panties, garter

borrowed: I am borrowing a diamond bracelet from our jewelers. I am kind of terrified to borrow something so massive and full of diamonds but it should look beautiful!

blue: I ordered a set of three blue rhinestone bobby pins. I will wear one, and I am giving one to my matron of honor/mom and another to my maid of honor, so they each have something special that matches me. Random idea that I had, but I think it's fun.

Old: Heirloom swarovski crystals that my aunt re-strung into a necklace for me.

New: Dress, shoes

Borrowed & Blue: My mom's white gold diamond and blue topaz ring, which I will wear on my right hand

Borrowed: My veil- I am borrowing it from one of my BM

Borrowed - FMIL's pearl earrings that her father gave her for her wedding 30 years ago

Blue - garter made by FI's grandmother

My mother passed away last month so it's really special for me that I'm wearing the pearls she gave me for my graduation. I didn't understand why she got me pearls back then because I'm not really the pearl type, but now I couldn't be happier. She also paid for my wedding dress so I'm definitely counting that as my something new.

Blue: Most likely my garter or underwear

Old: Garter made from my mom's dress that my sister wore for her wedding.

New: Like everything, dress, shoes, garter, underwear, jewelry...

Borrowed:  I'm so stuck on this one...I might borrow a braclet from somone if I can find someone with a nice diamond tennis bracelet.  I really don't know other than that... =\

Blue: My shoes and underwear

Old:  Trying to find a broach of my grandmothers to pin on the belt of my dress.  I'm also wrapping a locket that I've had for 20 years around my bouquet with pictures of my grandparents inside (who are all deceased).

New:  Pretty much everything:  dress, jewlery, shoes, underwear...

Borrowed:  Not sure yet - maybe a braclet?

Blue:  The ribbons for the bustle of the bottom layers of the dress are blue.  They won't show, but they'll be under there, somewhere.

And I'm doing a penny in my shoe - a smashed penny from Hawaii, where FI proposed!  It's kind of silly, but I always liked smashed pennies when I was a kid, and when FI and I took our first trip together, to DC, we walked by one of those machines and made two.  So now, on our trips, we try to always make them.

I dont have anythign old and borrowed. I'm not really into this tradition. I'm more going to have new, blue and sparkly :-) Why would you want something borrowed and old on your wedding day? I don't get it.

Old: bracelet FI gave me 6 years ago (does that count??) Otherwise I LOVE the locket idea...I have one from when I was a child from my now deceased grandparents.

New: my dress

Borrowed: probably necklace from my mom or my grandma's rosaries wrapped around bouquet

Blue: I want this (I'm a NYY fan, FI a RS fan), gotta find one for less than $90!!! yankees red sox combo.jpg
