Bridesmaids dress suggestions?

I just bought this dress (http://allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=8eF739267649hF0I8Fc7 Allure Bridals style 8923) for myself and I'm trying to figure out what style of bridesmaids dress will look good with it.  My maid of honor is older than the rest of us (50 vs 30ish) and would prefer a longer dress and not strapless, and my other bridesmaids want to still feel pretty and cute in their dresses.  Suggestions?!?!

Re: Bridesmaids dress suggestions?

  • Maybe pick out the color, length and fabric and let each Bridesmaid pick out their own dress.
  • If you want to make sure all the colors are consistent I would pick a designer (like Bill Levkoff or Jordan for example) and pick a color, length, and fabric within that designer.

I see no problem with having your maid of honor in a long dress and the others in short as long as they are the same fabric and color. That way she can look different than the others.

  • my bridesmaids are picking out their own dresses and shoes, with my guidelines.
Dress: tea-to-knee length, black, strapless, formal.
    Shoes: red, formal.
That way they can find a dress they are comfortable in and fits their budget.
    Would something like that work?

Also, if you wanted everyone to match more, then you could have the younger ones matching, and you MOH in a different dress that she feels comfortable in, and it wouldn't look wierd at all, it would just be the MOH standing out more, which isn't that uncommon.
