buying a wedding dress online

Hi this is my first time on this site. I was just recently engaged. My boyfriend and I bought a house than he proposed, 2 hours later. So I am trying to cut costs down but have nice things.
Would any of you recommend buying a dress online? If you have is it worth it or not? Let me know what you think

I bought my dress online from China and thought it was an excellent value and met my expectations exactly.

I am also not wound up on it being a designer dress or anything over-wrought.

No avenue is perfect. Stores can screw up or evaporate. Used dresses may not be exactly as described. Friends who sew can fail. And some online vendors aren't as good as others. Like anything, you will have to decide which route you want to take.

I bought both of my dresses Online from retailers that had actual stores. (davids bridal <-- which I don't recommend for alterations, and dolly couture). If you buy from a reputable store, and have previosuly tried in similar styles and know they look great on you, go for it! Just be aware of return policies, reviews, and check the BBB. you should be fine.

Bravobride.com is another site for buying dresses online. You can find good deals on ebay, but remember the guidelines for buying through ebay.

I got a custom dress through a seller on etsy (ieie). She was recommended by another knottie and had great reviews. So etsy is another route.

i bought mine online but it did need some alterations this pic was taken out of the tiny bag it came in. IT also needed a pettocoat because it had no pouf and only 2 layers of tulle.I got the dress from Dhgate.com from a seller called bill007. i would recommend them aswell i was totally happy with the dress for the price i paid and even with buying the petticoat and the alterations i made out like a bandit saving about 700 and the dress looks almost exactly like the one i tried on in the store. the material wasnt quite the same but wasnt poor quality just not quite the same
