Jacket or no jacket as guest of outdoor wedding?

My FI and are going to his cousin's wedding on Sunday - it is outside a state park above a waterfall.  It will likely be very warm.  FI has a matching suit vest and pants that looks great without a jacket - does he need to wear a jacket or would it be considered rude not to wear the jacket at least to the ceremony?  He will be wearing a dress shirt and tie as well.

  • Honestly, since it is a day time wedding and it is outside where it will be hot I think your FI should forget about the jacket and vest and just wear the shirt, tie and slacks.

I voted "other" ... I think he should wear jacket and tie without the vest.  Once the ceremony is over, he can remove the jacket.
  • Maybe I'm weird but I say just a shirt and tie. I don't think I've ever seen a guest wearing a vest to a wedding I've been to, and not even that many jackets. I've only seen that on the wedding party or someone like their fathers or something. But again, maybe it's just a regional thing?
