I Need Help Big Time

I just bought my dress this past Saturday, but I'm not getting married for a little while. well the dress isn't at my house, because I'm a smoker & I live with smokers. so the dress is at my sister in laws. but I really want it here. she has two little girls & needless to say I don't want it over there until then. I scared something bad will happen to it. So does anyone know how I could properly store it until the big day? and should I keep the dress in the same garment bad David's bridal put it in or buy something better? and if so what is the best one to get? I would greatly appreciate it.
We haven't set a date. & I know that if its in a house with smokers that it will effect the dress, that's why it isn't here. I bought the dress because I'm ready for us to start planning, to get the ball rolling. because if I don't then its gonna be years and years away. and as for family the only ones that live here are his family all mine live far away

  • Are you really getting married in 2016 and already have a dress? I'm not trying to be rude, but that's really not a good idea. Don't look at any other dresses now, you'll end up with regret in a couple years.

As for your question, do you have any other relatives or FMIL that you could borrow some closet space from?
  • If you're not getting married for three years, no matter what kind of bag you keep your dress in, if it's in a house inhabited by multiple smokers, that's almost certainly going to have an effect on it eventually. Keep it somewhere else.
  • I would NOT store it in a home where there are smokers. It will yellow, and sometimes, it will discolor beyond repair.  I would lay the dress in a cool box and put it under a bed of someone you trust that isn't a smoker.
