has anyone addes straps to a wedding dress and had them actually look like they belong? I REALLY want straps on my dress but dont want them to LOOK like I added them afterwards. My dress is Allure 8769 http://allurebridals.com/assets/1550/8769c8.jpg
Would the shop you bought your dress from be able to order you extra beading/fabric? Do you want cap sleeves or thing straps? I would also ask your shop what they recommend. I had a friend who tried on a gown similar to yours and the store actually had cap sleeves that could be added. The cap sleeves were made of tulle and beading so they were delicate looking rather than super harsh and noticeable like you would get from a solid fabric.

<div>Yes. I hired a professional seamstress who compared twelve different silk tafettas to my dress to ensure that the straps looked like they belonged. She added a pleating detail to the straprs to match the pleated details on the bodice of my dress. </div>
Re: adding straps
Your dress is beautiful. What kind of straps are you thinking about, thick or spaghetti straps?
