Sleeves please??????

Help!!!  The style right now is the strapless gown, but I REALLY don't think that will be the best look for me.  I can't believe I'm the only bride not thrilled to show my arms.  I want a formal (long) A-line or ballroom gown, but I can't find one with a sleeve (I prefer long or 3/4 length).  I can go with a jacket, but I'm less than thrilled with that idea. Any ideas ladies?

  • I'm getting an Alfred Angelo Style # 1797. I plan on adding a bolero jacket Style # 1741
I hate my upper arms too, so this is my route.  Have you thought about that instead of plain strapless?   Of course you have to figue the jacket into the dress total, but to me it worth giving up miles of train to have the bolero jacket.

  • I also do not like strapless dresses.  I found a Jcrew dress with sleeves, but the style is discontinued.  Anyway, I don't have any real suggestion to offer, but I just wanted to tell you that you're not alone in not wanting to show your arms.

Also, I know you said that you did not want a jacket, but "Blue" by Enzoani has some that I think are fabulous (It was my backup plan if I couldn't find a dress with sleeves).  The site won't let me link directly to the jackets, but you can find the link from their main page under accessories: http://www.bluebyenzoani.com
  • I am soooo with you on this one. I don't like my upper arms and really just don't like strapless dresses anyway. At least not on me.

There's a Demetrios gown I've seen online that I adore. I haven't actually begun dress shopping yet, but one of my first tasks is going to be tracking it down and trying it on to see if it actually looks good on me. I think it's style 2804?

Everyone says sleeves are the new "in" thing after Ivanka Trump's wedding... but it seems like a lot of designers are still catching up or something. I also remember a very trendy Lhullier gown with sleeves a few years ago that was all the rage.

So yeah, I don't have a lot of advice. Mainly just empathy. I'm confident we'll both find what we're looking for... it'll just take some extra digging.
