Advice needed for Bridesmaids dresses!

I have a very diverse bridal party with a red head, Japanese, a brunette, and a blonde all trying to get into a color that will flatter. My wedding colors are capri and wisteria and neither look good on at least one, so I'm thinking a neutral. However, what looks good on three drains one with most neutrals I've looked at. I'm thinking champagne, but am not sure. Does anyone have any advice to help me make this easier? Should I consider doing 2 colors?

  • I think two complimentary colors is not a bad idea.  If I'm not mistaken those colors you selected are shades of blue and purple.  Could you maybe do dresses with a double hem that incorporates both colors. The blue with purple hem on one and vice versa on another. If you are going with one color,  I  would lean more towards the capri then the wisteria only because everyone can't pull of purple and a redhead would look better in blue than purple in my opinion.

  • I love Necolemonet's idea of doing the double hem. DB has peekaboo skirts as well as Alfred Angelo and personally, I love them - I'm even buying a "BM" dress for myself because it has that peekaboo skirt.

Pretty colors, BTW. Looked at them on the DB website and here's the link to the peekaboo skirt on the DB website. Unfortunately, it only works with certain dresses, they say which ones on the website.

Don't do a neutral unless it's what you actually want. I am sure you can make the colors work some way. Maybe present your BMs with both colors and let them pick which one and do the double hem to tie both colors together? Personally, that's what I would do. :-)

  • We're doing 2 complementary colors for our BM dresses and I really like how it looks. Their styles are all different too because I wanted to flatter their body types as well. I agree with PPs about only doing neutral if its what you really want. I think you could make your colors work on everyone if you don't mind them being in different colored dresses. I like the double hem idea too. You could also incorporate your colors using sashes or pashminas.
  • If you would be O.K. with black dresses, you could give them colored sashes in the capri and wisteria ... either one color for all the girls, or split it in half. Or give the MOH one color and the BMs the other color.

Brown dresses might also work, if brown would fit into your color scheme.
