PANIC!!!!!

I have 5 months til my wedding and I'm starting to think I will never find my dress!!!!! Does anyone know of an affordable dress shop in Michigan? I don't want to spend more than $500...HELP!!!! Budgets suck!!!! :(

Re: PANIC!!!!!

  • I got mine at Memories in Kalamazoo. My budget was $500 also, and I almost walked out when they said that their gowns range from $600 and up. I'm glad I gave it a chance. I needed to purchase off the rack anyway because they said I was too close to my date to order, so I got a discontinued dress. My only mistake was looking at the wrong line when determining the price. I saw $480, and assumed that was the price, but it was actualy the discount. The dress was actually discounted to $600, but it's perfect for me, so I decided to work some overtime to make up for the extra hundred bucks. I had been having a lot of trouble finding anything I liked, so I figured increasing the budget a little wasn't a huge deal if it meant me finally choosing one.

They do actually have dresses there that are under $500, but they are all discontinued, and there aren't a lot to choose from.

Yep. I agree with cmg. You should hit up davids. At this point, it is likely to late to order most designer dresses anyway. Mori Lee will run 7001200. Alfred angelow has a few in the 600700 range, but most are around 8001100.

Have you considered looking for a preowned dress?

    Try recycledbride.com or oncewed.com
  • There's a Brides Against Breast Cancer charity dress sale coming to Detroit next month.

Most of their dresses are in the $200-$500 range as I recall.

    GL!
  • i feel you every dress i want is way out of my price range, and im not being a "snarky ungrateful b!tch" about it, its just slightly upsetting to see exactly what you invisioned, out of your price range !
  • Bellisima Bridal in Albion has a good selection of sale dresses in a variety of sizes.

Check preownedweddingdress.com, oncewed.com, recycledbride.com for your dream dress. Lots of brides sell their gowns for about half of the original price.

Not all of them have been worn. I had dress regret and bought a second gown and ended up selling it for 325.

woot woot way to go !
  • Don't buy online; just go to your wedding salon and tell them your budget they will find something for you.

Don't buy used either, you will end up paying seamstress to fix the dress and their is NO return policy.

Good luck, I am sure you will find something at a bridal salon, maybe a sample on a mannequin.  Don't feel shy about asking for a discount.
  • I actually did just buy one from inweddingdress.com and it came in a couple of weeks ago. It looks pretty awesome! Of course it's not 100% to the picture, but it's pretty close. I will need to get some alterations because I ordered a slightly bigger size just in case, but the dress itself only cost $209. With alterations, it will be $320 total, but still that's not bad considering how much dresses normally cost!

Here’s a picture of my dress
